What is Filler

Filler is 100% pure hyaluronic acid without any silicone or other substances mixed in. Dermal fillers injections will plump up skin and smoothen groove and hollow area on your face, such as smile lines, under eyes grooves. The filler’s texture is soft and can be molded. Filler always comes in pre-filled syringe.

Is Filler Dangerous ?

It’s not dangerous, but there are 2 condition …

1) You must use authentic fillers.

💙 The authentic filler will completely dissolve without leaving any residue, taking 6 months to 2 years to naturally break down. In case you want to fix it right away, filler can be dissolved immediately by dissolving solution without the need of surgical removal. After dissolved, new filler can be refilled later for desired result.

💙 Authentic fillers do not migrate. The chemical properties of the authentic filler cause it to adhere to the skin, preventing it from becoming fluid and moving to other areas. Once shaped and allowed to set, it will maintain its position and shape regardless of how many months pass. This is a key characteristic that differentiates authentic fillers from fake ones.

💙 Authentic fillers are 100% pure and free from pathogens or foreign substances. Generally, if the doctor performs the procedure hygienically and the patient maintains good cleanliness, there will be no infections or inflammation after the injection.

2) Filler must be administered by an expert doctor only.

🤎 The doctor will inject carefully to prevent the filler from entering and blocking blood vessels, which could lead to tissue necrosis or blindness. This skill requires anatomical knowledge of doctor to decide where to safely place the filler and where not to.

🤎 “under-eye lumps when smiling” is a common problem that can be avoided by choosing a doctor who is expertise in facial contouring. Because the skin around the eyes is very thin, any lumps and bumps can be easily visible. Therefore, doctor’s technique in placing the filler are crucial for achieving a smooth and beautiful result.

🤎 At Peace Clinic, our patients can choose any facial outcome they desire; natural look, model look, feminine, musculine. On the appointment, patient will have a consultation with doctor first to ensure mutual understanding of the desired outcomes. Our doctor will recommend the procedure that truly suit each individual.

Is 10 cc of filler a lot ?

Injecting a whole of 10 cc of filler in only one area is a lot and may look frightening. In practical, doctor will use 10 cc spread across various facial structures, giving harmonious and beautiful looks.

For example, in a patient over 40s, whose facial structure has naturally aged, doctor might distribute the filler evenly across the face to restore patient’s bone structure. This could include 2 cc in the forehead, 2 cc in the temporal area, 2 cc under the eyes, 2 cc in the cheeks, 1 cc in the lips, and 1 cc for the chin.

The amount of filler needed depends on two things: 1) the patient’s original facial structure, and 2) the desired outcome. The following recommended amount of filler are roughly estimated. An actual usage may be more or less, as assessed and advised by the doctor.

The advantages of choosing authentic fillers over fake fillers

We have compiled a list to show what happens when authentic fillers are used:

  • Short-term benefits: Immediate results are more beautifully shaped because authentic fillers are 100% pure hyaluronic acid with fine, small molecules, providing a softer texture that are easier to mold compare to fake fillers.
  • Mid-term benefits: After some time, the results look even more natural than immediate result. Authentic fillers integrate seamlessly with patient’s tissue and do not migrate. Once the initial swelling from the injection subsides, the appearance becomes more refined and harmonized.
  • Long-term benefits: Authentic fillers are 100% dissolvable. Our body can fully break down genuine fillers without leaving any residue. Once the filler has dissolved completely, your face returns to its pre-filler appearance without distortions, lumps, or scar tissue formation.

After injecting authentic fillers, if the results are unsatisfactory, such as too much volume added or appear to have lump. The doctor can correct it easily by injecting a dissolving agent. This agent immediately dissolve the filler without the need for surgical removal.

In severe cases, such as when fillers block blood vessels leading to tissue inflammation or necrosis risk, if the substance is an authentic filler, the doctor can use a dissolving agent to clear the blockage immediately in which fake filler cannot do.

The advantages of fake fillers over authentic fillers

The only advantage of fake fillers is that they are cheaper.

Which brand of filler can cause necrosis on the face ?

Many might have heard about patients suffering from necrosis (tissue death) on their faces after filler injections, requiring surgical intervention to remove the affected tissue and ultimately leading to disfigurement. The cause of necrosis and inflammation after filler injections isn’t attributed to a specific brand of fillers but rather two main factors:

  1. Injecting Dermal Filler into a Blood Vessel: This leads to blockage, depriving blood supply, resulting in tissue necrosis, blindness, etc. This scenario is often associated with fake doctor or even non-expertise doctor, who lack of anatomical knowledge. These incidents can be mitigated by choosing a medically qualified and experienced doctor.
  2. Use of Fake Fillers: Fake fillers often contain substances other than pure hyaluronic acid, introducing foreign materials that can cause severe inflammatory responses. While some people might only experience swelling and redness, others can develop abscesses requiring surgical removal. This factor is becoming increasingly common as patients are often deceived into receiving injections of counterfeit fillers.

Both these factors highlight the importance of choosing experienced, medically qualified doctors and ensuring the use of authentic fillers to prevent such severe complications.

Is an imported filler from non official distributor considered an authentic filler ?

The only reliable type of filler is one that comes directly from an official importer because such fillers, before being sold, must pass the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) inspection to confirm that the syringe contents are pure hyaluronic acid as labeled, without any adulteration. If patients encounter issues with genuine products, they can file a complaint or request assistance from the filler company. This is a crucial distinction from using counterfeit fillers or imported filler from non official distributor which offer no recourse in case of problems.

Fillers that are smuggled or carried without official importation are not certified by the FDA and often have fake FDA stickers applied. Patients who lack of knowledge might be misled into believing they are receiving genuine products. The danger of counterfeit fillers lies in the unknown substance within the syringe.

Finally, congratulations to Restylane, the number one filler from Sweden, which has continuously achieved global success for over 25 years with more than 50 million treatments worldwide.

Peace Clinic is proud to be part of this success, and all our patients can be assured that we only use safe and high-quality products.
